Greenwood Promise Appoints Carrie Hofmann as New CEO to Lead Organization into Next Chapter of Growth and Impact

The Greenwood Promise, an educational funding program dedicated to creating a brighter future for students in Greenwood County, is pleased to announce the appointment of Carrie Hofmann as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

With a proven track record in creating strong community engagement, Hofmann will lead The Greenwood Promise in its mission to make post-secondary education accessible to all students in Greenwood County.

Hofmann is an Emmy award-winning executive recognized for leadership, revenue growth strategies, and operational oversight. Most recently, she served as President and General Manager of WLTX-TV in Columbia, SC. Known for mentoring talent, Hofmann has a deep commitment to community engagement through innovative programming. Her focus on connecting with diverse audiences and impactful storytelling will drive growth and spread awareness about the program’s impact on students, families, and the broader community.

The Greenwood Promise, launched in 2015, as an initiative designed to ensure that every Greenwood County student has the financial means to pursue higher education. Through generous support from community partners and donors, the program covers the tuition and mandatory fees at Piedmont Technical College and now the final two years of over 25 selected bachelor’s degree programs at select universities.

The organization remains steadfast in its mission to provide students in Greenwood County with a pathway to success through education.
